 Psalm 90:1-2

A prayer of Moses the man of God
Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Psalm 30:11-12
A song of David for the dedication of the temple
You turned my wailing into dancing,
You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing to you and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever.

In 1997, Wildwood Church asked Robin Stuyverson to teach dance classes for a Children’s Ministry project entitled -“Kids Expressing Their Faith Through the Arts”.

Because of the interest generated from the project, Robin continued teaching after school dance classes for several years at Wildwood Church, while also teaching at a local dance studio.  By 2002, the dance classes grew to where we officially named ourselves “Wildwood Ballet”.   Wildwood Church agreed to install dance floors, mirrors, and barres into two church classrooms, where we conduct our weekly dance classes.  It has been our privilege to offer dance classes to children, youth, and adults in –

Ballet, Pointe, Pre-Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Choreography, and Lyrical.

In addition to dance classes, we offer performance opportunities through Wildwood Ballet Company.  We present an annual outreach concert series to benefit our mission project – A Time to Dance – where we offer dance classes to needy women and children in our community.

In addition to classes and a company, we also offer annual summer ballet classes for adults and older students, as well as dance camps for our younger students.  This year we will continue our American Girl Doll Adventure Dance Camp where campers will learn folk dance, dances pertinent to the time period of each doll, arts and crafts, and bible studies that are pertinent to the featured dolls.
